'''NGC 2451''' is  an [[open cluster]] in the [[Puppis constellation]], probably discovered by [[Giovanni Battista Hodierna]] before 1654 and [[John Herschel]] in 1835.<ref name=Seligman>{{cite web|last1=Seligman|first1=Courtney|title=Celestial Atlas: NGC Objects: NGC 2450–2499|url=http://cseligman.com/text/atlas/ngc24a.htm#2451|website=cseligman.com|access-date=10 July 2015|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20160101133350/http://cseligman.com/text/atlas/ngc24a.htm#2451|archive-date=1 January 2016|url-status=dead}}</ref> In 1994, it was postulated that this was actually two open clusters that lie along the same line of sight.
