An '''overwhelming exception''' is an [[informal fallacy]] of [[faulty generalization|generalization]]. The rhetorical use of the fallacy can be used to comic effect, as in the below examples:

:The attempted implication (fallacious in this case) is that the Romans did nothing for them.
