The current campus opened on February 5, 1973 at the corner of [[New York State Route 31]] and [[New York State Route 429]] in the suburban community of [[Sanborn, New York]]. SUNY Niagara athletic teams were first known as the Frontiersmen from 1962–1984, and then the Trailblazers from 1984–2010.
