The [[population density]] was {{convert|1338.1|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 1,774 housing units at an average density of {{convert|540.9|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the city was 95.2% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 1.1% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.2% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 1.1% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.1% [[Race (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 0.8% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 1.5% from two or more races. Sunbury is home to the [[Big Walnut High School|Big Walnut Local School District]]. The district contains four [[Elementary School|Elementary Schools]], one Intermediate School, one [[Middle school|Middle School]], and one [[High School]]. The district also serves students in the neighboring town of [[Galena, Ohio]].
