A visual acuity of 6/6 does not mean you can percieve each individual bar of an E subtending 5 arc-minutes of angle, it means you can distinguish that there are two cycles of black-to-white-to-black which occur within 5 arc-minutes of angle. Importantly, this means the visual acuity of 6/6 corresponds to an equivalent visual resolution of 2.15 cycles/mrad.
